Ms. Barbara Bianco is completing her 13th year as a Technology Instructor at The Falk Laboratory School of The University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Bianco was instrumental in creating Falk's current Robotics program and in the recent transition of a new Technology Laboratory. Ms. Bianco participated in a research program with Dr. Rebecca Morris to learn how middle school students respond as viewers in a school activity called “Digital Storytelling.” Ms. Bianco instructed 5th grade students in the creation of video "Book Trailers." Ms. Bianco enjoys using and teaching Adobe Photoshop, Logo, Scratch, iMovie, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. In 2009, Ms.Bianco,won 2nd place and $500 in a yearly NALS Technology contest called, “Teach Tech Award.” Ms. Bianco’s award was for a program involving The Gigapan Camera, Falk students, and a school in Africa. After interning at The Falk School, Ms. Bianco graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a M.A.T degree K- 8 elementary. Ms. Bianco has a B.F.A in Graphic Design from The Pennsylvania State University and a certficate to teach art from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. Bianco taught 3rd and 4th grade students at the “ Solomon Schechter Day School” in Pittsburgh. After an absence from teaching and the birth of three boys, Ms. Bianco was hired by The Falk School.
