I came to Falk in August 1994 after having taught in the Corning Public Schools, the Lab School of SUNY Potsdam, the Crane School of Music, St. Patrick’s School (the lab school for Kent State);and as an IU teacher for integrating music in Special Education for Armstrong and Indiana counties. I have always been a Music Generalist—a teacher of general and instrumental music –and was thrilled when I was hired at Falk and was charged with starting a Band program to go along with the established General music program. Falk is perfect for me; I teach K-8 General Music, and instrumental music when my students are in the fourth through eighth grades. I am also given the opportunity to teach Graduate students in the School of Education as they prepare to become teachers. And I have the opportunity to teach with an amazing group of dedicated professionals.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing music—I direct a Church band and choir and do some solo work in churches in Fayette County—reading, walking and going to concerts, the Opera, and the Theater. I am a co-chair of our local food bank and work with a local community outreach group that organizes activities for children and families in Fayette County. My husband Keith, is a Presbyterian pastor and an avid football and college basketball fan. (He also is a great singer and guitar player, but he doesn’t like me to say that!) We also love going to Ontario in the summer to attend the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

What Makes Falk Special
The teachers are so nice and I've learned a lot! I like how the school is not too big so everybody knows each other."
